A City that Works for Petaluma

I have run my own general automotive repair shop in Sonoma County for twelve years. I have lived here, raised my family here, and attended City Council and committee meetings here for thirty-six. Over those years I have watched the same basic problems get promised, studied, shelved, and promised again. Petaluma is a great place to live, and city government should do the basic things well. I am running for mayor to make sure it does.

This campaign is not about left versus right. It is about whether our city government works.

My Three Priorities

• Take care of our city. The basics come first. Fix our streets and sidewalks. Maintain our water and sewer systems. Support police and fire.

  Keep our parks and public buildings in good condition.

Finish projects on time and control costs.

• Spend our money wisely. Petaluma is an expensive place to live. Every dollar should answer three questions: What did it cost? What did we get? Was it done on time?

• Listen to the people. You should not need to be an attorney, an activist or a City Hall expert to have a voice. Listen to residents. Ask hard questions. Take responsibility.

Why This Election Matters

The next Council will set Petaluma’s General Plan for the next twenty years, and decide the future of the Fairgrounds along with it. Those decisions will outlast everyone sitting on the dais. They deserve a mayor who knows the history and answers to the people who live here.
